Teachers' qualification

Our teachers have received all requisite training and are registered as qualified teachers by the Education Bureau. Our English curriculum is taught by native English teachers and our Mandarin curriculum is taught by Mandarin speaking teachers who have passed National Putonghua Proficiency Test. Our teachers are committed to educate children according to their abilities. They are also good role models for children to follow.

Curriculum

We incorporate "Theme Education" and "Children's Project Approach" in our curriculum. Through the process of designing, practising and reviewing activities, children are inspired to build on their existing experience to acquire new knowledge. By observation, interview and record taking, we assess the physical and mental development of children.

Trilingual learning environment

We use Jolly Phonics as our phonics programme in our English curriculum. This programme teaches children 42 sounds of English and inspires children to learn through activities. From basic sound making, blending of sounds to formation of words, children begin to acquire English reading, writing and comprehension skills.

For our Putonghua curriculum, we use "Come and speak Putonghua" as our curriculum in line with the "Pre-school education curriculum guidelines". Through games, songs and speeches, children begin to develop their Putonghua listening, speaking and writing skills."Story Corner" and "Drama World" are additional curriculum features which help children to develop reading, speaking and listening skills.

Continuous assessment

To help us to design our curriculum, we assess children's performance continuously and understand their learning progress and physical and mental developments. After analyzing the class performance record of children and information provided by parents, we prepare reports to parents recording children's learning progress.

Children's mental health programme:

Zippy's Friends is a programme which is designed to promote mental health, emotional wellbeing and communication skills of children. It helps children to develop coping abilities and positive aspects of behaviour and motivate children to learn. The curriculum for Zippy's Friends is provided by Partnership for Children org and is taught by teachers who have received training in Hong Kong Institute of Education. Each learning unit has different themes. Children are encouraged to explore and generate solutions, to express their feelings in a relaxed manner, to develop and maintain friendship and to resolve conflicts. Teachers will discuss with children on how to cope with difficult situations, find solutions to help others and adapt to new environment.

"One Sports/Arts in Life" scheme

Each child needs to take part in a sports class or team training. Through these classes and training, children can develop their health, explore their potentials, gain self confidence, learn to be responsible and adapt to group lives.

Convergence of kindergarten and primary school

The mode of learning for kindergarten and primary school is different. To facilitate children to adapt to primary school's environment with ease, we promote comprehensive learning which includes mock primary school classes. This definitely helps children to be mentally and emotionally prepared for new environment.

Japanese classes

Native Japanese teachers from Waseda Japanese Language Centre teach our children basic Japanese conversational skills and introduce to them Japanese culture through interesting classes and games designed by Waseda Japanese Language Centre.

Learning equipments

During small group activities, children will use Children's Potential To Be Motivated (CPM) toys to learn. CPM is a kind of learning equipment which allows children to coordinate the use of their hands, eyes and brain so as to develop their abilities to understand and think and will also inspire self-learning.

Continuous reading programme

In order to promote children's reading interest and habit and motivate self-learning, teachers encourage parents to formulate continuous reading plan with their children. Children are encouraged to use drawings or words to record their afterthoughts. This helps children to develop writing abilities as well as to improve parent-child's relationships.

Community activities

We actively participate in community services and regularly arrange our children to take part in difference competitions and performing activities. This helps to boost children's confidence and broaden their horizon. Children also will care about their society.
